If DumpIR is enabled but the PassManagerDumpIR option isn't enabled then
this currently does nothing.
As a convenience, enable dumping the final optimized IR if an option
hasn't been specified.
Inspired by #2832 by going through the source and removing uses of
`assert`.
assert doesn't work for us in debug builds because some games will
capture SIGABRT and continue running. So we need to use FEX's built in
assert handlers which call `FEX_TRAP_EXECUTION` which will take down the
FEX process as expected.
There wasn't too much usage of this in the source, so this is relatively
straightforward.
Allows us to consume an array of strings and convert it to an mask of
enum values. This is a quality of life change that allows us to specify
a mask of options.
The first configuration option added to support this is to control the
vixl disassembler. Now by default the vixl disassembler doesn't
disassemble any blocks and needs to be enabled individually.
eg:
```
FEXLoader --disassemble=blocks <args>
FEXLoader --disassemble=dispatcher <args>
FEXLoader --disassemble=blocks,dispatcher <args>
```
Has the additional convenience option of just passing in numbers as
well.
```
FEXLoader --disassemble=2 <args>
FEXLoader --disassemble=1 <args>
FEXLoader --disassemble=3 <args>
```
Also of course all of this works through environment variables.
```
FEX_DISASSEMBLE=blocks FEXInterpreter <args>
FEX_DISASSEMBLE=dispatcher FEXInterpreter <args>
FEX_DISASSEMBLE=blocks,dispatcher FEXInterpreter <args>
```
While only used fairly sparingly now, this is likely to have some
additional configurations using this in the future. Since we already
have some configs that are basically using enums, but just by doing
string comparisons.
This was asked for by a developer, so I figured I would throw it
together quick.
FEXCore has no need to understand how to load these layers. Which
requires json parsing.
Move these to the frontend which is already doing the configuration
layer setup and initialization tasks anyway.
Means FEXCore itself no longer needs to link to tiny-json which can be
left to the frontend.
This lets all the path generation for the config to be in the frontend.
This then informs FEXCore where things should live.
This is for llvm-mingw. While paths aren't quite generated correctly,
this gets the code closer to compiling.
This has been a long time coming. The C interface has been a thorn in
our side for no reason for a long time.
The purpose of this step is to remove the C interface without changing
behaviour as much as possible. This means that with this commit there
are still some bad practices but the remaining issues will be solved
with followup PRs.
Primarily, we still have a `DestroyContext(CTX)` static function which calls
the Context implementation's `DestroyContext` and does a raw C++ delete.
Follow up PR will remove that, but I didn't want to touch it yet since
it'll require checking to ensure the unique_ptr changes play nice with
our allocator hooking. Which this is already a huge PR without trying to
change behaviour.
This will be useful for keying specific executables to steamids.
This is sadly required because a bunch of games end up naming themselves
"game.exe" so we can't safely enable thunks for all things shipping a
generic name.
pressure-vessel overrides our rootfs when it does a pivot_root.
Since we are still communicating to the FEXServer we were pulling the
configured rootfs.
Instead check if we are in pressure vessel and avoid doing that.
This fixes FEX running under pressure-vessel.
(There may be some implications to this down the road with code caching
but let's worry about that later)
By default we won't build with the interpeter to reduce user confusion.
The interpreter isn't really useful to end users so remove it.
Completely removes it from building except for the fallback operations.
This also removes the selection from FEXConfig to remove selection
confusion there.

In the case of nothing being set then with the default being zero now we
will not have fixed it up to calculate the number of threads based on
host core count.
Migrates lingering instances of the old logger over to fmt where
applicable. This allows removing some of the old defines and functions.
The only remaining usages of the printf-based variant of the logger is
in Tests/LinuxSyscalls/Syscalls.cpp for the strace handling.
In the case of running inside of a container then we need to redirect
where we look for configuration.
Currently we only care about pressure vessel so we just redirect some
options to check inside of `/run/host/`
This will resolve an issue where installed thunks wouldn't be found.
This isn't quite a 100% clean sweep of IWYU.
There are some false positives where clang fails.
Additionally there are still a few missed in the frontend side of things
that I didn't get to
Puts the visibility of the main layer, application layers, and
environment in to FEXCore instead of FEX.
These layers aren't specific to FEX/FEXLoader and should live in
FEXCore.
Only the EmptyMapper remains in FEX, which should eventually move over
to FEXConfig since that is the only user.
These were causing static initializer construction all over the codebase.
Scope of these variables has also been changed over to the module instead of the header as well
This information is only ever going to be offline. Will be useful for multiple reasons.
1) Searching for split lock usage in applications, which can be a programming bug.
a) This isn't visible on AMD systems and on Intel is a fairly new linux feature
2) Having more information about when an application breaks.
3) Useful for some minor profiling for devs looking for statistical data
If the thunk config is not a path then search for the filename in $XDG_DATA_DIR/.fex-emu/ThunkConfigs/
for the file.
Just makes it easier to use rather than having full paths
